I provide private instruction on guitar, bass guitar, and piano either in your home or my Audubon studio. I also provide rock/pop band lessons in your home. I specialize in tailoring customized lessons to each student's specific needs and abilities. Growing up on rock and folk music, I later developed an appreciation of jazz, blues and country, and take great joy in working with students in all these styles. I excel at figuring out and teaching students any songs they want learn, as long as they have mastered the basic techniques and reading abilities that will insure a successful performance. All ages are welcome and I currently have students from the age of six to over sixty.
Although I have always performed professionally, I consider myself, primarily, a music educator. I pride myself on my ability to move students successfully, in an organized manner, through the steps that will lead them to professional quality performance and an intellectual grasp of music.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Music and Communication from LaSalle University and a Masters Degree in Music Theory from Temple University. I also have Music Education Certification from Chestnut Hill College. I have been teaching guitar, bass guitar, and piano for 30 years and elementary school classroom music for 25 years. My experience as a performer includes solo guitar work, both acoustic and electric, and appearances with numerous bands, both original and cover. I currently perform in the duo Jack and Lore (acoustic guitar/flute), playing classical, jazz, pop, Broadway, and original music at private functions, clubs, and festivals.
